Important note: If you intend to use the live call transfer feature or T-1 lines (24 lines each); please go through the “Telephone Service Requirements” section for the details that you need to order for getting the necessary telephone service from a telephone company.

Telephone Service Requirements

The different telephone requirements would be:

Standard Analog Telephone Lines

Standard ANALOG telephone lines (business or residential) are normally used for all of our products using Speedy Dialer, Intel Dialogic voice boards, and PIKA voice boards. However, if you wish to use T-1 DIGITAL lines (24 lines per cable), read further for T-1 details:

VoIP Telephone Services

VoIP services (such as Vonage) using broadband internet connections may or may not work properly with our products. There can be problems due to the quality of the VoIP service, the amount of band width you have, the amount of activity on the computer, etc. In addition, most VoIP companies have restrictions against the use of auto dialers. You are welcome to try VoIP service with our products, but we cannot provide technical support or guarantee that they will work properly.

Live Call Transfers

The feature of Live Call Transfer is available with most of our products. In either case of using inbound mail-auto attendant or an autodialer, both the caller/ called has the option of pressing a key to transfer to speak to a live person. Now the call can be transferred to any designated telephone number in the world. But in order to perform these live call transfers, it is essential that the telephone line used with out product has one of the following services from your telephone company:

Call Transfer Disconnect (or Centrex)

This feature necessitates that once the call is transferred, the original telephone line is free once again to receive or place more calls, which in turn can be used by our Speedy Dialer, Dialogic Voice Board or PIKA voice board..

OR

3-Way Calling

This feature implies that once the call is transferred, the original phone line does not get free as in the previous case but remains in use till the interaction continues. This disables it from receiving or placing more calls before the conversation winds up. This may be used with Dialogic & PIKA products but not with Speedy Dialer.

T-1 Telephone Lines (24 Lines per cable)

T-1 lines are available for both long distance and local calls. It is important that while ordering for T-1 lines from a telephone company, you understand the pricing of the two. If you need the call transfer facility, it is worth paying attention that you have either ‘3-way calling’ or ‘call transfer disconnect (Centrex)’ feature offered with the T-1 carrier.

While purchasing you must also pay attention to the requirement of CSU Power Module. You can determine its relevance after discussing it with your T-1 line supplier.

In spite of all these detailed specifications, we further advise you to contact our TECHNICAL SUPPORT at 806-467-8324 or www.tellacom.net for assistance, BEFORE you order T-1 lines from a telephone company.

If you order T-1 telephone lines, furnish the following provisioning requirements to the telephone company (if you are using a Dialogic Voice Board):

  • Framing & Coding: D4 SF / AMI E & M Immediate
  • Address Signaling: DTMF
  • Jack Type: RJ48X
